One of the best kickers of the dead ball from a distance in football history, former English professional footballer David Beckham began his career in the senior team of Manchester United at the age of 17. One of the members of the renowned Class of '92, he played an important role in Manchester United's success in the '90s. He made his Premier League debut in 1995 against Leeds United. After Andrei Kanchelskis departed in 1995, Backham replaced him in the squad permanently and slotted into the right side of the midfield. Beckham's set-piece brilliance became synonymous with United's success in the late '90s. Few title-laden years with United culminated in him finishing as the runner-up in the 1999 Ballon d'Or. Beckham's relationship with the gaffer, Sir Alex Ferguson, began to turn sour from the turn of the millennium. In the summer of 2003, Beckham joined Real Madrid as part of this Galactico project on a four-year contract. He enjoyed mixed success with Real Madrid till 2007. He joined the MLS team LA Galaxy in 2007 on a lucrative deal worth $250 million. In 2013, he retired after playing a year for PSG.
